iPhone finally coming to Australia

It seemed like it would never happen. But the unimaginable has occurred, the “Jesus Phone”, Apple’s iPhone is finally coming to Australia. Yay!
Vodafone has announced that they’ll be selling the iPhone in Australia later this year. Thankfully Apple will be adopting a more open strategy for selling the iPhone than they did when it launched overseas. So it seems that Optus and Telstra may also be selling it as well as an unlocked version available through Apple stores.
No release date has been confirmed but it will most likely coincide with the Apple Store opening in Sydney and the worldwide release of the 3G iPhone.
